Anybody know what happened to [url]www.precisionmods.com?[/url]

I had my PS2 chipped by these guys about a year and a half ago. They did a good job-it still works fine.

I was thinking about having my other PS2 done by them, but the website is gone. I have used IE and Opera. I have also tried a Google search. All I get is server not found.

Anybody know what's up with this company?

I think modchips have become illegal, and everyone has stopped selling them. Not sure about that, but I wanted to get a PS2 done so I wouldn't have to take original copies of games to uni with me (very, very nickable) but I couldn't get it done...

After reading your post, I did some very quick research and found that mod chips were banned in the UK. But I'm pretty sure they are still legal here in the US which is where precision mods was located.

Although I've heard some negative info about them, I had no problems getting my XBOX mode chip or getting it to work. I got it from

It's a shame that they are banning them. They do have legitimate uses. I'm sick of finding my games scratched up by my brother, and losing out because I can't make a backup and use that instead. I realise they've got to try to protect themselves against piracy, but when it starts to kill legitimate use...

Thanks for the link. However, it seems they only sell modchips, not install them.

I will try a google search. I just would have preferred precisionmods because they were good for me and had a good rep AFAIK.

I know of a good reliable installer for xbox or ps2 and does great customizations also
